Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented QA Automation Lead to join our innovative team in Sydney. This pivotal role will have you leading the testing of finance products, overseeing everything from Test Planning, Execution, Automation, Regression, to Production verification, ensuring that our business products meet the highest quality standards. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize product requirements and drive quality-focused testing across the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Help the team deliver exceptional products by contributing to the creation and execution of a comprehensive quality strategy for our platform and services.
  • Guide and mentor team members on best practices in testing, and foster a culture of quality throughout the team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise testing requirements, ensuring that all features and changes are rigorously tested and meet our high-quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts to guarantee thorough testing and flawless user and business expectations.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain a cutting-edge test automation suite integrated with our CI/CD pipeline to support a seamless and continuous quality-driven approach.
  • Track and manage defects, collaborating with stakeholders, product managers, developers, and software engineers to ensure efficient and effective resolutions.
  • Lead and participate in the planning, guidance, and execution of user acceptance testing and other critical testing activities.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA and testing, leading the charge on continuous process improvement within the team.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring: 

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance (Software Engineering experience is also highly valued).
  • A strong background with 2+ years’ experience in automated testing tools, frameworks, and processes (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, TestRail, etc.).
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, C#, or Java).
  • Experience in banking, payments, or NPP projects is a must-have. Familiarity with Australian regulatory requirements relevant to the fintech industry is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, testing methodologies, and tools, with hands-on experience working in an agile environment as part of a scrum team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and influence quality practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues effectively.
  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring teams in testing and quality practices.
