Job Description :

Who are we?

While the name Diageo may be unfamiliar to you, our brands have most likely been with you while you create unforgettable moments of connection and celebration. Imagine crafting the future some of the most well-loved spirits brands across the world, including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Bundaberg Rum and building possibilities within growing brands such as Don Julio, Ciroc, Ello and Aviation Gin. By joining Diageo Australia, you will inspire an exceptional team around you, with offices and teams working from 8 locations across Australia, to build incredible performance and unleash your own potential.

What will your role be?

As our Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the end-to-end quality and food safety agenda across our Australian beverage operations, ensuring every product meets Diageo’s global standards and reflects our commitment to exceptional consumer experiences. You will shape and execute the market quality strategy, strengthen systems such as FSSC, HACCP, ISO and GRMS, and drive a culture where quality is owned at every level of the organisation. Working closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Commercial and Regional Quality teams, you’ll champion continuous improvement, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure our sites and processes are fully compliant, capable, and ready to deliver brilliant brand execution.

This role is ideal for a strategic, influential quality leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You will oversee governance, risk and compliance frameworks, lead root-cause problem solving, build capability across teams, and elevate performance through employee-led quality programs. With significant ownership and visibility across the business, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping operational excellence and enhancing the reliability, safety and reputation of our iconic portfolio.

*Please note this role is required to be a full time onsite role*

What will you lead and achieve?

  • Champion a customer-first quality strategy, shaping the systems, routines and supplier partnerships that ensure every product and experience delights consumers and elevates our brand reputation.
  • Act as the key voice of Quality for Australia, connecting local performance with our Global Governance Steering Committee and helping influence global decisions through insight, action, and proactive improvement ideas.
  • Grow and inspire a high-performing Quality team, fostering a culture of ownership, capability development and continuous learning where people feel empowered to lead quality from the frontline.
  • Drive future-ready improvements by strengthening supplier assurance, unlocking cost-effective process enhancements, and raising quality capability across the site to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
  • Embed world-class Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with ISO/FSSC, GRMS and internal standards while building a culture that relentlessly tracks critical metrics, understands performance gaps and turns insights into progress.
  • Role-model problem solving and continuous improvement, leading RCPS, owning risk escalations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to remove barriers, uplift performance and build a more resilient, agile, and quality-driven operation.

What will you bring to the table?

  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing and quality within beverages, food, or FMCG, with a strong track record leading quality teams or large quality functions.
  • Deep expertise in Quality & Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP, FSSC, ISO) and hands-on experience with audits, compliance programs, and risk management in a regulated environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of packaging lines, supplier development, and end-to-end quality systems, ideally gained in spirits, beverages, RTD or similar high-speed production settings.
  • Proven leadership capability, including coaching, building capability, and influencing cross-functional teams in a complex or matrix organisation.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, including root-cause analysis, process capability, data-driven decision making and change management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or similar, with Six Sigma or industry certifications highly regarded.
