Job Description
Currently, this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. Once the project is fully operational, it will transition to a 14/7 roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region.
ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.
The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to share their expertise within our growing Transmission Lines team. In this role, you will ensure the project meets specified quality standards by developing and updating all necessary quality assurance documents. You will work closely with Site Engineers to ensure timely project completion, prepare for quality audits, and train employees on AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Project’s Quality Management Plan, including ITPs and ITCs that reflect client requirements.
- Ensure ITPs & ITCs are completed to a high standard across all projects and manage the systematic opening, monitoring, and closing of work lots.
- Conduct detailed assessments of products and components at various production stages and oversee fabrication processes by the company and subcontractors to meet client specifications.
- Perform quality audits across projects, fabrication facilities, and supplier facilities, maintaining the project’s quality audit schedule.
- Liaise with the client’s quality department, attend weekly QA coordination meetings, and provide ongoing reporting on project quality issues.
- Investigate quality defects, implement corrective actions, and report to management, assisting the Project Manager with quality reporting in the Monthly Report.
- Provide ongoing support and training to project teams and production employees, promoting best practices and compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Develop and monitor continuous improvement programs, select quality inspection tools and software, and review statistical data to identify and eliminate quality problems.
Required Skills and Competencies
- At least 5 years’ experience in multidiscipline infrastructure projects
- Tertiary Qualification/s in engineering or related discipline
- Quality auditor - Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9000
- Clear communication both written and verbal
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced project environment
