Job Description

The Project

ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.

Project scope includes:

  • Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
  • Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
  • Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway

The Opportunity

In line with the above, ACCIONA are now looking for a Quality Supervisor (M&E) to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project.

Key accountabilities for the position:

  • Attend and document Witness Point Inspections, ensuring product acceptance and advising on rework methods.
  • Act as the primary contact for quality issues with the client team, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Conduct continuous inspections, create punch list items, and verify their closure.
  • Collaborate with Installation Engineering and Supervision teams to address recurring workmanship issues.
  • Mentor subcontractors and tradesmen to improve workmanship and prevent defects.
  • Support the Quality Engineer during client installation defect walkdowns, consulting on workmanship standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

Capability & Experience you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in managing M&E works in tunnelling or major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems within the tunnelling environment.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and the ability to review safety documentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to solve problems and handle complex technical challenges on-site.
