Quantity Surveyor - Orange
Freo Group is looking to fill the position of Quantity Surveyor - Renewables to manage one of our major contracts based in our Orange, branch and working on the Uungula Wind Farm development project.
In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategy and direction, through a strong link between commercial thinking, contractual clarity, and actionable results.
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our high-performing team and play a pivotal role in our contract on the Uungula Wind Farm Development Project. Your main role will be to estimate and monitor construction costs from the project feasibility stage, through tender preparation, to the construction period and beyond.
Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and coordinate first-principles estimates (direct and indirect costs)
Support the end-to-end bid process — from pricing and methodology to risk assessments,
Tender reviews, and submission.
Produce clear, accurate, and high-quality tender documentation and presentations.
Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
Contribute to continuous improvement.
Your skills and experience:
A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying.
Be competent in the provision of all construction cost management services.
Superior English verbal and written communication skills including report writing
Have QS experience in Australia. A minimum of 12 months relevant work experience.
Have good communication skills, presentation and high professional standards.
Have good organisational and time management skills with a flexible work attitude to meet
deadlines.
Be analytical, meticulous and have good attention to detail.
Have good problem solving and decision-making skills.
Be computer literate with good spreadsheet skills.
Be enthusiastic, adaptable, self-motivated, responsible, ethical and honest.
Have a hands-on attitude and be able to work within a team and fit in with the hard-working culture of the company.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency (preferred)
