Job Description
A senior-level financial executive responsible for leading a team of finance professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting of the Company's financial performance. They play a critical role in supporting Regional Leadership in identifying business opportunities and driving profitable growth within their assigned region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership:
- Develop in partnership with regional commercial leaders and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with global business objectives.
- Lead the regional finance team, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including forecast cycles, annual budget and long-range plans.
- Monitor key financial metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with regional leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, including financial projections and investment decisions.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- Identify potential growth areas and develop strategies to maximize profitability within the region.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Establish and manage annual operating budgets for the region, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Develop detailed financial forecasts, including revenue projections, expense management.
- Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on market conditions and business performance.
- Trends and Opportunities
- Identify trends and opportunities and leveraging global HQ provide business support intelligence to senior leaders. Constantly stay abreast on industry and retail outlook to apply business insights on a timely basis. Leverage data sources (NDP, Nielsen, Mintel, Kantar) to perform benchmark analysis and identify whitespace opportunities for potential business growth.
- Regional negotiations
- Support Regional financial negotiations with key partners for contract renewals (including RFPs/pitches with Global Toy Partners), audits, transfer fees and GSFs
- Team Development:
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, efficient ways of working and improvement within the regional finance function.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Dual reporting to VP Finance (LA based) and SVP Consumer Products (Sydney based)
- Regularly communicate business performance and insights to regional leaders, senior management.
- Build strong relationships across multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
- Proactively address financial concerns and provide strategic recommendations to improve business operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, experience ideally within a multi-regional organization.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a high-performing finance team.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with Commercial Leaders and manage a high performing FP&A/ Finance function
- Deep understanding of Licensing and Consumer Products preferred.
- Ability to travel to different locations within the region as needed.
