Job Description:
The Global Client Group leads Dimensional’s efforts to acquire long-term client relationships and increase the firm’s reach in the marketplace. Team members work closely with both institutions and financial advisors to offer focused, specialized support and ensure the delivery of a consistently impeccable client experience. Everyone is empowered to offer up and execute on innovative ways to produce results.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Institutions and supported by the Client Relationship Group, the Regional Director, Consultants, is responsible for working with both advisory consultants and research houses and partnering with the rest of our sales teams to develop new opportunities with consultants; maintain existing relationships with consultants and research houses; and improve fund ratings. The individual will work closely with each of Dimensional Australia’s sales channels; the Global Consultant Relations Team as well as with Dimensional’s, Research, Portfolio Management and Trading teams to help win and retain business and improve ratings.
Responsibilities
- Establish and develop relationships with advisory consultants and research houses.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement business development plans for the advisory consultant community and research houses.
- In time, create deep partnerships with advisory consultants to elevate Dimensional’s standing in the advisory consultant community.
- Work with advisory focused sales channels in a collaborative manner to create and close opportunities and manage risks with existing clients and new prospects.
- Maintain and/or increase Dimensional ratings with research houses and successfully have rated newly launched funds.
- Provide constructive feedback on strategies and trends to the executive, sales and investment management teams.
- Lead complex technical investment discussions with a sophisticated audience.
- Develop an effective level of knowledge with regards to the workings of advice and Dimensional’s offering to advisors.
- Have a strong voice with regards to positioning, communications and innovative solutions.
- Act as an intellectual contributor and a trusted advisor to the consultant and research house community.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or CFA preferred.
- At least 5 years of sales experience, ideally gained from working at an asset manager, consulting firm (institutional or advisory) or research house.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with regards to conveying technical investment approaches and key selling points in a clear and compelling manner.
- Practical knowledge of the consultant, research house and advice business in Australia.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment, managing competing priorities in a high paced and complex sales role.
- Commitment to the philosophy and process underlying Dimensional’s investment approach
- Highly motivated to significantly increase depth and breadth of consultant and research house relationships.
- Solid technology and analytical expertise.
- A strong sense of professional and personal integrity and high ethical standards.
- Demonstration of initiative, accountability and focus on quality.
- A proven track record and history of success.
