Job Description

The Regional Safety Advisor will work within the regional safety advisory team in an advisory capacity to manage the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and security strategy for system, framework, policies and/or procedures for the Qantas Group regional business
areas. The focus being to minimise or eliminate, where practicable, injuries to persons, damage to equipment, infrastructure or the environment. This is to be achieved by working with the business units to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture. This role is integral to improving the identification of, mitigation against, and resolution of relevant hazards.

You’ll have – 

  • Minimum two years’ experience in an WHS role
  • Tertiary Qualification to Certificate 4 in WHS or higher.   
  • Ability to comfortably work with diverse stakeholder groups Experience in an WHS position and a demonstrable record of delivering improvement.
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety strategies within a large operational
    businesses.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively liaise with both staff, management and regulators.
  • Sound interpersonal, influencing and networking skills with all internal and external contacts.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental management principles and issues.
  • An understanding of Human Factors principles.
