As part of our values-driven Sales & Customer Solutions function, this role plays a critical part in protecting market share, deepening customer relationships and delivering profitable growth across our Central West region.
As Regional Sales Manager, Central West, you’ll take ownership of a high-value portfolio, leading a team of Business Relationship Managers responsible for key customer relationships across South Australia and Western Australia. This is a senior management, field-based leadership role where you’ll balance people leadership, commercial rigour and customer advocacy, while executing CHEP’s national Sales & Services strategy at a regional level.
Reporting to the Director, Regional Sales, you’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, working closely with Operations, Planning, Commercial and Customer Service teams to ensure customer satisfaction, pooling integrity and long-term profitability.
This role is based in Adelaide, with regular regional travel required.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Develop and execute tailored business plans for key accounts, prioritizing customer satisfaction, identifying growth opportunities, reducing costs, and ensuring strategic alignment with CHEP’s goals.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Account Managers, fostering a culture of high performance, customer focus, and continuous improvement to drive business outcomes.
- Monitor team performance against key metrics, including revenue growth, customer retention, and satisfaction, and take proactive measures to ensure success and continuous improvement.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within customer organizations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their business needs and driving value creation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Logistics, and Operations teams to design and implement solutions that enhance the customer experience and improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and renewal processes, ensuring alignment with CHEP’s strategic and financial objectives.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and growth initiatives by leveraging market insights, customer feedback, and industry trends.
- Champion a Zero Harm culture by ensuring team adherence to safety protocols and actively promoting a safe and compliant working environment.
What will ensure your success in the role:
- A completed Tertiary Qualifications in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
- Demonstrated success in a senior management sales leadership role, with accountability for revenue, pricing, customer retention and team performance.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a remote or geographically dispersed sales team.
- Strong commercial acumen, with confidence negotiating complex agreements and managing high-value customer portfolios.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills, enabling you to influence outcomes across customers and internal functions.
- A customer-centric mindset, balancing commercial outcomes with long-term partnerships and service excellence.
- Resilience, autonomy and sound judgement when operating in a competitive, fast-moving market environment.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and execution capability, with the ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities.
