Regulatory Counsel 

Our fast-paced APAC Regulatory team is looking for a Regulatory Counsel who has experience with the payments, financial service or fintech industry in Singapore. In this role, you will enable Adyen to create unique business opportunities while making ethical choices. To do this, you must have strong analytical and communication skills as well as pragmatic and strategic thinking while advising internal and external stakeholders on regulatory matters.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor regulatory developments in APAC markets and advise on its impact to Adyen
  • Manage various regulatory requests and filings
  • Operationalise regulatory requirements in APAC for Adyen
  • Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on general legal and regulatory risks 
  • Represent the Regulatory team on a variety of workstreams and products to establish regulatory strategies that align with global objectives and ensure controlled and compliant growth;
  • Analyse regulatory policies, guidelines and reports, bills and acts and licensing requirements pertaining to payments and financial services industry in APAC;
  • Support internal and external partner teams in all regulatory and legal matters; and
  • Assist in corporate secretarial matters and liaisons with external advisors and auditors to meet compliance requirements.

Who you are

  • You are a qualified lawyer in a commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, UK, Australia)
  • You have 3+ years’ experience in a regulatory and/or legal function focused on payments, financial services and/or fintech industry;
  • You have some working knowledge of payments, financial services and/or fintech industry;
  • You have a strong sense of initiative, independence and ability to take ownership enabling you to contribute to a fast-growing business;
  • You are an analytical and critical thinker who finds creative solutions for complex regulatory challenges enabling business opportunities while staying in control;
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as experience in managing relationships with internal stakeholders; 
  • You reside in Singapore.
