ISS Market Intelligence provides research and data services to financial institutions, life insurers, asset managers and institutional investors. Individual business units within ISS MI focus on the American, European, Asian, Australian and Canadian wealth management business.

Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst position represents an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the thought leadership and intelligence capital of Rainmaker & ISS MI.
The Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting a wide range of research projects representing client deliverables and developing new research initiatives in response to evolving market conditions. This role will require strong collaboration to achieve successful execution of research initiatives and leadership on specific projects after experience is gained in the role.
Specifically, the Research Analyst, is expected to:
- Assist in the timely delivery of existing ongoing research publications based.
- Contribute to the process of creating new research content.
- Assist Sales team in identifying and scoping new opportunities.
- Engage with the team to refine and establish new research processes, methodologies and research formats to optimise the research workflow, the quality of research insights and their relevance to clients.
- Provide consulting and analytical support for recurring and new research projects.
- Demonstrate care, precision, diligence and thoughtfulness in the execution of research analytics, report production and verification processes.
- Pro-actively share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with team members, on a formal and informal basis.
Qualifications
The Rainmaker Information environment is best suited to self-starting, highly motivated individuals who are able to deal with the pressures of team collaborating, learning/researching, developing analyses and delivering research outputs within specific timelines.
Candidates should have:
- Tertiary qualification in mathematics/economics/statistics/ finance.
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services with a focus on the wealth management industries, or experience with a market research firm or a consulting business active in the financial services industry. A longer track record is a plus.
- Understanding of life insurance products (Retail, Direct, Group), retirement products (superannuation, income stream/annuities) and managed investments.
- Familiarity with Australian financial regulators and financial market
- Strong mathematical aptitude, analysis, forecasting/modelling skills.
- Strong communications skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and conflicting demands.
- Knowledge of PC applications including spreadsheet and database analysis and proficient in standard office software and equipment.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. To support a smooth transition, training and job onboarding may require additional time in the office. The hybrid schedule is subject to periodic review and may be adjusted based on operational needs.
