An exciting full-time 12-month contract opportunity is available to be part of a friendly, high performing team of researchers in the development of new animal health products globally.
Your Role: Research Scientist (1 year contract)
As a Scientist, you will be part of the Animal Health R&D team, supporting the development of new products and label extensions for the ANZ and global markets. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading and coordinating in-vivo studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality scientific outcomes.
Your Responsibilities:
Conduct and/or assist in coordinating biological study phases to evaluate safety, efficacy, and tolerance of compounds or vaccines
Ensure studies align comply with external and internal guidelines (e.g. SOPs, VICH, FDA, OECD, GxP, HSE and Animal Welfare Code of Practice) Elanco Good Research Practice guidelines
Collect biological specimens and manage data for regulatory submission ensure all data generated in studies is available, presented and maintained to a standard suitable for submission to regulatory authorities.
Support Study Management and other operational teams as required
Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and documentation
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related scientific discipline (preferably veterinary or animal science)
Experience: Demonstrated relevant industry experience in animal research or clinical studies
Strong problem-solving, and analytical and organisational skills; effective written and verbal communication — Enthusiasm and energy for the role with a strong drive for achievement, and to work well in a team environment
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Experience in conducting clinical, safety, and technical audits Demonstrated relevant industry experience in animal research or clinical studies, understanding of R&D processes, and broad scientific and technical knowledge (including knowledge of animal health products, parasites, disease and laboratory best practices).
Knowledge of pests, diseases, and laboratory best practices
Skilled in animal handling and laboratory procedures
Experience with specimen tracking systems and documentation
Ability to monitor audit timelines and corrective actions.
Additional Information:
Travel: Occasional local, interstate & international travel may be required
Location: Kemps Creek, Western Sydney, NSW
Language: Fluency in English is essential
Driver’s Licence: A valid Australian driver’s licence is required
Work Conditions: Ability to work additional hours as required
