We have an exciting opportunity to join our Valuation team as a Residual Value Analyst. In this role, you’ll help ensure our used valuations for cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and leisure vehicles are accurate and reliable, while meeting strict deadlines to deliver timely data to our customers.

Our Company

We are the automotive pricing experts in Australia. Our data delivers comprehensive pricing and specification details across many types of vehicles. Businesses in and around the automotive sector trust and rely on our data, methodologies, and expertise. Through our datasets, applications, and insights, we simplify complexity, helping our customers make informed decisions and grow their businesses.

The Department

Our Valuations team is responsible for delivering accurate and reliable vehicle valuations and pricing in line with our strategic goals. We use SAE (Statistical Analytical Engine), Autovista’s state-of-the-art valuation methodology, to ensure precision and consistency.

The Role

As a Residual Value Analyst, you will produce valuations for used vehicles and forecast values where relevant. You will analyse the current vehicle market across cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and leisure assets.

Responsibilities

    • Ensure the monthly publication of accurate and timely used vehicle valuations by reviewing, adjusting and completing SAE values, or using other methods where SAE is unavailable.
    • Depending on asset type, ensure accurate and timely forecast values by reviewing current model behaviour, market trends, make/model strategy and adjusting values accordingly.
    • Assess new models, facelifts, and brands to create initial used and forecast valuations.
    • Operate within strict governance, adhering to policies and management instructions.
    • Attend industry events to gather market and product knowledge and share insights with the team.
    • Maintain valuation accuracy as a core pillar of our activity.
    • Identify and track key market trends and influencing factors in the automotive sector.
    • Contribute to regular market reviews and valuation policy meetings using available reports.
    • Respond to customer queries in line with our customer experience standards.

    The Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who has completed secondary education and demonstrates a strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel, with a solid affinity for IT. The ideal profile will have an excellent command of the local language and adopt a structured, goal-oriented, and analytical approach to work, supported by a basic understanding of statistics. Experience in analysing large datasets using business intelligence tools, preferably Tableau, is highly valued, as is a good knowledge of the automotive market and industry. In addition, we are seeking someone who shows strong team spirit, integrity, and professionalism, and who is willing to travel when required.

If you’re passionate about vehicles, have experience in the automotive industry, and possess an understanding of data analysis, this could be the perfect role for you. The position is fully remote, so you’ll need to be self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable working from home.
