About the team:
The Resilience Business Architect exists to strengthen ASX’s ability to maintain critical business services by designing and embedding business resilience strategies, frameworks, and capabilities across the CHESS and Austraclear platforms. This role ensures the organisation can anticipate, withstand, and recover from disruptions, supporting regulatory compliance and operational continuity.
The ASX Securities and Payments (S&P) Resilience Team is committed to strengthening the business, operational, and technological resilience across all S&P business units, with a strategic focus on Austraclear and CHESS. Our mission is to proactively uplift resilience capabilities, enable rapid recovery from disruptions, and ensure the continuity of critical business services in alignment with license obligations, regulatory expectations and enterprise standards.
What you will be doing:
S&P Resilience Posture: Improve S&P resilience posture by contribute to the resilience strategy (roadmap, governance and operating model) and execution.
Map Critical Business Services: identify and document critical business services, assess criticality, tolerance levels, identify internal process, system, data and external dependencies, supporting Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and risk management.
Recovery Capabilities: define and assess potential failure scenarios using structured methodologies contributing to the design and testing of recovery and continuity plans.
Market Testing: design and coordinate external market testing exercises across the ecosystem, including customers, third-party providers, and internal systems.
Resilience Architecture: design and implement the S&P and Business Unit resilience architecture, including objectives, key results, metrics, ownership, and dashboards to support governance and reporting
Governance and Reporting: contribute to the development of governance structures and reporting mechanisms that align with enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, incident reviews and best practices.
What you will bring:
Must have
Business domain expertise: understanding of post-trade equities infrastructure, including trade, clearing, settlement, and subregister functions
Business Architecture & Process Mapping: ability to map critical business services to processes, systems, and dependencies.
Scenario Planning & Risk Assessment: proficiency in structured methodologies to assess failure modes, risk management and playbooks.
Business Continuity & Recovery Planning: knowledge of BCP, BIA, DRs, Communication Plans and Firedrills principles and practices.
Operating Model & Governance: experience in designing and implementing operating models with clear accountabilities, metrics and governance structures.
Dashboard & Reporting: skills in designing and implementing dashboards and reporting tools to support governance and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: strong communication skills to collaborate across business, operations, and technology teams.
Analytical & Structured Thinking: ability to approach problems methodically and deliver a tailored approach to uplift S&P resilience posture.
Nice to have:
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: understanding of relevant standards eg. RBA’s FSS, APRA’s CPS 230, ASIC’s Market Integrity Rules, and relevant ISO standards
Simulation & Testing Coordination: experience in designing and running resilience simulations and incident response exercises.
Program & Change Management: experience in managing change initiatives at a program and project level.
Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management: awareness of how third-party management discipline and uplifts required to support resilience.
Technology & Systems Awareness: background in systems architecture or integration to understand technical dependencies.
