Airwallex Capital Hong Kong Limited (CE Number: BUL570) (Airwallex Capital) is an SFC licensed asset manager and launched Airwallex Yield, a low risk-rated discretionary portfolio management service in 2025.
What you'll doAs Responsible Officer / Executive Director, you will play the leading role in ensuring Airwallex Capital’s full compliance with SFC rules and regulations for Type 4 (advising on securities) and Type 9 (asset management). You’ll lead the implementation and management of robust policies and procedures, support the development and growth of Airwallex Yield and other capital markets products, and act as a key partner to Sales in handling customer interactions and increasing funds under management.
This role is based in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with all SFC rules and regulations relating to Types 4 and 9 regulated activities, including the implementation and ongoing management of policies and procedures.
Act as Responsible Officer and Executive Director, and Manager-in-Charge for Overall Management Oversight and Key Business Line, in supervising regulated activities and maintaining the highest standards of conduct and governance.
Oversee the development and ongoing management of Airwallex Yield and other capital markets products, driving product innovation and operational excellence.
Support Sales and Commercial teams by handling customer interactions, addressing complex queries, and helping to increase funds under management.
Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal stakeholders, including handling SFC inquiries and inspections.
Maintain and operate effective compliance and risk control frameworks, including regular reviews of business processes, trade reporting, record-keeping, and capital adequacy.
Participate in Board and Investment Committee meetings, contributing to strategic direction, risk management, and business growth.
Foster a culture of compliance, innovation, and customer-centricity within the organization.
We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably in accounting, business administration, economics, finance or law.
Must be currently licensed, or immediately eligible to be licensed, as a Responsible Officer for Types 4 and 9 regulated activities and satisfying the SFC’s Fit & Proper requirements.
Holds (or previously held) unconditional RO status for SFC Type 9 with no conditions, waivers, or restrictions
At least 5 years of relevant management experience in fund management.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Chinese & Cantonese.
Experience in promoting and dealing with investment products in the retail market.
Experience as a Board Director of an asset management firm.
Deep understanding of the SFO, applicable SFC’s rules and regulations, the Fund Manager Code of Conduct, and the regulatory environment for licensed intermediaries.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a high level of integrity and a customer-first mindset.
