 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the team of analysts and investigators reviewing client account activity to swiftly identify unusual or fraudulent activity so that any necessary remediation steps may be taken.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to team members to optimize their performance.
  • Ensure AML/CTF and related regulatory requirements are adhered to during the monitoring process, so the company is compliant with its AML/CTF regulations.
  • Ensure the team properly applies card brand network rules in its review of accounts so that only eligible merchant business activity is supported.
  • Manage escalated communication and requests from business partners on behalf of the team.  Communication should be professional and effective to ensure partners understand the rationale for decisions made.
  • Continuously review risk processes/ systems and implement improvements, as needed.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders within and outside the business to implement improved fraud monitoring mechanisms/ processes
  • Manage loss prevention activities, especially with respect to merchant chargebacks and bank returns.  These items will be monitored daily to ensure timely escalation of significant outstanding items.
  • Manage a team of chargeback analysts and continuously review their processes to ensure efficiency at all times
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders within and outside the business to implement improved Chargeback Case management systems, as and when the need arises
  • Ensure all scheme related compliance reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Create, manage and report on KPIs (on agreed intervals) for the settlements, risk and chargebacks teams.
  • Continually review and update, as necessary, the monitoring guidelines and operating procedures used by the team.
  • Report to management on the activities and effectiveness of the activities of the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive industry experience with a background in Compliance, gained in a payments or financial institution.
  • Deep knowledge of the AU legislative and regulatory framework in relation to the AML/CTF Act.
  • Demonstrated experience building and sustaining a high-performance team culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated within a multi-dimensional business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, global organisation.
  • Strategic and goal-oriented focus with the ability to lead and facilitate projects locally, regionally, and globally.
