Build your career at Iress!

We’re looking for a Risk Business Partner to join our Group Risk team, based in Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Risk Business Partners, you’ll partner closely with a business unit’s leadership team as a trusted adviser, helping them make informed strategic and operational decisions within Iress’ risk appetite.

You’ll lead the risk agenda for your business unit, provide clear and useful risk insights, and oversee its risk profile end to end. This is an opportunity to bring a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk and help embed sustainable practices that support growth, resilience and a strong risk-aware culture.

Some of the amazing things you’ll be involved in
  • Advising the business unit’s Leadership Team and extended leadership team on risk, and acting as the primary risk subject matter expert for the business.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing business unit risks, including maintaining the risk profile in Iress’ GRC system and applying the Group Risk Appetite Statement through relevant measures and metrics.
  • Providing timely, decision-useful risk reporting, insights and analysis to business leaders and governance forums.
  • Supporting control owners to design, test and review controls through Control Self Assessment activities.
  • Embedding Iress’ incident and breach management requirements, escalating incidents and breaches, and supporting issue owners to complete remediation actions.
  • Identifying and communicating emerging and strategic risks, supporting compliance with applicable regulatory obligations, and monitoring audit actions through to closure.
  • Leading the risk aspects of strategic initiatives and transformation, including business continuity and resilience, AI and data governance, information security and cyber risk management.
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of Iress’ Risk Management Framework, governance, policies, methodologies, tools and GRC capabilities.
  • Role-modelling effective risk management and helping strengthen risk capability across the business.

What you will bring
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior business leaders in a business-aligned risk role, ideally in software, fintech or technology, or in a professional services advisory environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT risk frameworks and terminology, with the ability to lead a business unit’s risk agenda and influence strategic decisions.
  • Experience embedding risk frameworks, policies and monitoring processes within a business.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with Executive and senior leaders, provide sound advice and communicate the overall risk health of a business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing risk reports for Board- and Executive-level audiences.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a global, matrix structure is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM or CISSP are a plus.

Why work with us?
  • 8 additional paid days per year to extend your weekends
  • Hybrid working
  • Generous cash bonus for every successful referral
  • Starting school leave — 8.5 days of leave to assist your children with the transition to school
  • Up to 26 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary carers (up to 4 weeks for secondary carers), and the ability to work part-time when returning to work
  • 3 days’ paid leave per year to participate in charity initiatives
  • Discounted health insurance premiums
  • Access to learning and development programs through LinkedIn Learning
