You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities within the exciting and ever changing Startup and Small to Medium Business (SMB) sectors. You’ll do so through cold outreach via phone and email and executing on campaigns conceptualised with your partnered Business Development Manager. 

Our career development framework plans to allow our Sales Development Representatives to work alongside their paired Business Development Manager to source, own and close smaller value opportunities to show competency in both sourcing and closing business. Excelling in these areas allows a runway to career progression as a Business Development Manager. 

Job responsibilities

  • Identifying ideal customers, researching their needs, and building targeted lead lists.
  • Utilising various channels like email, cold calling, and social media to engage prospects and initiate conversations.
  • Assessing prospect pain points, budget fit, and decision-making power to ensure they're a good fit for the Thoughtworks’ services.
  • Building rapport with qualified leads, educating them about our value proposition and addressing their concerns to move them further down the sales funnel.
  • Scheduling discovery calls with your partnered Business Development Representative, ensuring a smooth handoff and maximising conversion opportunities.
  • Monitoring and analysing campaign performance, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to the optimization of sales processes.
  • Thriving in a dynamic environment, readily embracing new technologies and processes.
  • Possessing the grit to handle rejection and persevere in achieving targets.
  • Utilising data insights to inform prospecting strategies and refine outreach efforts.
  • Articulating the company's value proposition with clarity and conciseness, both verbally and in writing.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Intermediate knowledge and/or education/certification within Cloud infrastructure highly regarded.

Professional Skills

  • Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo.io experience highly regarded.
  • Experience working in a partner-driven ecosystem, especially within a Cloud and/or professional services discipline highly regarded.
  • Experience in owning end-to-end sales cycles highly regarded.
  • Ability to travel to industry events and attend customer meetings (approx once per month).
  • Ability to work autonomously if located remotely.
