Key Media is a global B2B media company with leading brands across insurance, finance, education, law and HR. We run events, publish content and build communities that connect business leaders across some of Australia's most active professional sectors, with the backing and resources of a business that also operates in North America, UK and Asia Pacific.

We're looking for a Sales Executive to grow sponsorship and advertising revenue across our Australian portfolio of media and events.

The role

You'll own a brand, becoming the face of it in your market, embedding yourself in an industry and building strong long-term relationships.

You'll work closely with your editor and events team to build the reputation of your brand. Because the editorial and events products are so well respected, clients tend to stay, and many have become long-term partners who will see you as a trusted part of their marketing strategy.

This role involves a combination of account management and new business.

Day to day you will be prospecting, pitching, negotiating and closing, while nurturing and growing existing relationships. You'll be out at events, well-known in your sector, and embedded in the community you serve.

What's on offer

  • $130k+ OTE with uncapped commission and accelerators
  • Hybrid working with access to an office in George St, Sydney
  • A sales team where most people have been here 10–20 years, some longer
  • An extra day of paid annual leave for each year with us
  • One paid volunteer day per year
  • International travel and career progression opportunities across seven global locations

What we're looking for

Two or more years of B2B sales experience, ideally in events, sponsorship or media, though we'll consider strong candidates from adjacent fields like advertising or partnerships. You should be comfortable running the full sales cycle independently and confident presenting to senior stakeholders.

Beyond experience, we want someone who enjoys building relationships, and who takes pride in being well-regarded in their market. If you're the kind of person who loves building close relationships with clients, then you will love this role.

This is a Sydney-based role. You'll be needing to be in the city a couple of times a week for client meetings.

About Key Media

At Key Media, your next role comes with global exposure. With teams across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Asia, the US, the UK, and Europe, we give you the chance to grow your career while collaborating with colleagues from around the world. From cross-border teamwork to attending major live events, you'll be part of something international, fast-moving, and meaningful.

We're a thriving B2B media company creating award-winning content and events across legal, HR, insurance, finance, education, property and more. With over 330 team members, we connect professionals through digital platforms, in-person events and print, always delivering work that informs, celebrates and brings business communities together.

One thing that tells you a lot about a company: how long people stay. Most of our Australian sales team have been here between ten and twenty years (some even longer). We're social by nature… the kind of team that heads out for a drink after a big event and enjoys each other's company.

We call our culture orange energy. Collaborative, high-energy and kind. We offer hybrid and remote flexibility, regular socials, DEI initiatives and a real sense of belonging,  along with the freedom to take ownership, share ideas and grow quickly.
