Salesforce Backend Engineer

The Role

The Salesforce Engineer at Athena is part of a squad with a well-defined mission and ships high quality code and solutions to the challenges of helping customers reach their financial independence more quickly.

While this role is a Salesforce Engineer role, a candidate with additional secondary experience building backend services using Node.js and typescript in AWS is desired.

Key responsibilities 

• Designing and implementing software solutions.
• Testing the stability and functionality of the application.
• Reviewing and collaborating with others on internal and cross-team technical proposals.
• Performing configuration and customization of the Salesforce platform.
• Collaborating to out our API layer using a micro-services architecture and components on public cloud infrastructure.
• Continuously increasing efficiency and quality of the team through tooling and experimentation.
• Collaborating with everyone in an open and constructive way.
• Operating the platform products offered by the team.
• Production support the Salesforce platform as well as across AWS services with support from other team members

About You

• You’re an early adopter who enjoys experimenting with emerging tools and technologies, and you’re eager to harness AI-driven development.
• You’re a skilled engineer with high standards, a passion for quality, and experience developing with APEX and Lightning Components.
• You’re adaptable and quick to learn new languages when needed.
• You have experience with web service technologies (REST / SOAP / GQL, JSON / XML, etc).
• You can build or are keen to upskill in backend services using Node.js, Typescript, and AWS.
• You have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and can identify root causes to drive effective solutions.
• You collaborate well with software engineers, product owners, and IT teams to deliver practical outcomes.
• You communicate clearly and confidently and thrive in an Agile, fast-paced DevOps environment.
• You’re a team player with a can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
