The SAP Technical Writer works as part of a small team responsible for producing high‑quality ERP work instructions supporting SAP Supply Chain processes. The role partners closely with SAP functional consultants, business process owners, SMEs, and project teams to translate complex SAP system designs and configurations into clear, accurate, standardised, and user‑friendly documentation.
The position also works with business process leaders and Quality Management stakeholders to ensure all required ERP work instructions are identified, governed, approved, and maintained in line with organisational standards. The role focuses primarily on SAP Supply Chain modules.
Key Accountabilities
- Work within a small team to plan, track, and manage daily and weekly documentation activities to meet agreed delivery timelines.
- Develop, maintain, and publish end‑to‑end ERP work instructions across SAP Supply Chain processes.
- Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, business process owners, and SMEs to translate SAP solution designs into clear, deployable work instructions for business users.
- Convert complex SAP Supply Chain solutions into concise, standardised, and audience‑appropriate documentation for both operational and technical users.
- Ensure all documentation complies with organisational standards, templates, governance frameworks, and version control requirements, and is integrated into existing documentation repositories.
- Partner with change management, training, and communications teams to support effective end‑user adoption of SAP solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer delivering documentation for SAP solutions.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of SAP Supply Chain modules (SD, MM, LE, PM, PM, PP, EWM, QM Etc….)
- Proven ability to document end‑to‑end supply chain processes such as order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, inventory management, planning, manufacturing, equipment maintenance and calibration, warehouse management, and quality processes.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex system behaviour into structured, easy‑to‑understand documentation.
- Experience using documentation and knowledge management tools such as MS Word, Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, OpenText, Signavio, or similar platforms.
