As a Business Analyst in Product Development working in the APAC Investment Middle Office Sydney team you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing development of our Securities Services products by analyzing business needs, gathering requirements, and collaborating with cross functional internal teams including Technology, Operations, Product Management and Client Service. You will also engage with APAC clients, fund managers and vendors to support testing requirement to help support key programs in the region whilst collaborating with the broader global team internally.
This role is in the APAC product development team within Investment Middle Office Services (IMOS) based in Sydney which delivers product enhancements to enable new business growth and scalability in the growing APAC business. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic and innovative environment.
Job responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Product, Operations and Technology teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for new product features and enhancements.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and confirm requirements that will inform product development decisions.
  • Analyse and document opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within securities services operational processes.
  • Prepare clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, process flows for as-is and target state requirements, user stories and assumptions
  • Work with Technology application development teams to communicate requirements, iterate designs and enable development of new product features. This may include facilitating requirements workshops, documentation of JIRA stories and participating in sprint planning and story grooming activities.
  • Support the testing and validation of new product features to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards. Help support joint testing with clients, fund managers and vendors.
  • Prepare internal documentation e.g. training material, newsletters to communicate change throughout the development lifecycle and ensure teams adopting the product enhancements are operationally ready.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years work experience preferably within financial services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to clearly document requirements and analysis to support findings with facts and data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with business analysis tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Data analytics
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
  • Effective use of AI tools to improve efficiencies.
  • Query tools such as structure query language (SQL).
  • Understanding of product development processes and lifecycle.
  • Experience in Securities Services, Markets, Asset Management or Payments businesses.
