Job Description

About the role

At Sydney Airport, we’re proud to be Australia’s busiest and most connected gateway to the world. As a Security Performance Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our operations—every hour of every day. This is a shift-based, 12-month contract role at the heart of our aviation security operations, where your decisions and coordination will directly impact the safety of millions of passengers and the integrity of one of Australia’s most important pieces of infrastructure.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, high-performing team that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. If you’re someone who brings energy, professionalism, and a proactive mindset to everything you do—and you want to make a real difference—this is your opportunity.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Coordinate the 24/7 day-to-day aviation security operations across Sydney Airport, ensuring best-practice outcomes.
  • Monitor and drive contractor performance to meet mandated security standards and contractual obligations.
  • Manage on-site responses to security incidents, working closely with internal teams, government agencies, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Analyse security performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and training.
  • Support investigations and implement security measures that enhance safety and compliance.
  • Reinstate secure zones following works, events, or breaches, ensuring operational continuity.

About you

You’re a team player who thrives in high-pressure environments and brings a calm, solutions-focused approach to challenges. You’ll also bring:

  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and lead with critical thinking in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability, with a commitment to collaboration and team success.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • A genuine desire to contribute to the safety and security of Sydney Airport and the broader community.
