As the Senior Account Director, your role is to lead a team of Account Directors who are responsible for managing a portfolio of large and complex national workers compensation clients.  These clients include some of Australia’s largest employers across both managed fund and self-insurance schemes.  The Senior Account Director is responsible for developing strategies to maximising our partnerships with these priority clients and EML’s intermediary partners to drive performance, profitability and growth.  The role is part of the Senior Leadership Team within Partnerships & Distribution at EML and reports directly to the General Manager, Partnerships, Strategy & Distribution. 

You will have more than 8 years’ experience in workers compensation, including leadership experience, preferably within account management and across multiple jurisdictions and self-insurance schemes.

In addition to working with clients and broker partners, the role requires you to work closely with each business unit’s claims operations teams, to develop and lead program strategy, improve performance and implement bespoke services to demonstrate market leading account management support to some of Australia’s largest and most sophisticated employers.

This will be a permanent, full time position based in either our NSW or Victoria offices. You will have the option of hybrid working once you are comfortable in the role.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of experienced Account Directors who are responsible for the account management of some of EML’s largest national clients
  • Oversee the management and servicing of key priority clients, with a focus on retention and performance
  • Management of contract requirements and deliverables for self-insurance clients
  • Partner with internal Business Units to support achievement of client and business goals
  • Support the achievement of new business targets, through tender writing and presentations to prospective clients
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across client portfolio with evidence of strategic and proactive initiatives across client base.

ABOUT YOU 

  • More than 8 years’ experience in workers’ compensation, preferably in account management or business development
  • Excellent understanding of the NSW, Vic & SA managed fund jurisdictions and/or self-insurance/Comcare schemes
  • Prior experience in leading a team
  • Demonstrated relationships, knowledge and connections through employers, brokers and industry groups.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at C-suite/executive level.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with conflicting demands ensuring key priorities and deadlines are met.
