We’re looking for a Senior Account Director to lead and grow key client relationships at Akcelo — including clients at the forefront of Australia’s sport and entertainment landscape. You’ll help shape the stories, experiences and moments that fans, customers and audiences truly care about. In this role, you’ll guide strategic growth plans, unlock new opportunities and become a true champion for your clients’ brands and ambitions.

What a day in the life might look like

  • Champion world class award winning work for one of Australia’s biggest brand
  • Overseeing senior client relationships within a portfolio that includes sport, entertainment and culturally driven brands
  • Building and growing new and existing client partnerships with confidence and vision
  • Leading the development of strategic client growth plans to exceed revenue targets and broaden Akcelo’s service offering
  • Preparing accurate client forecasts and implementing smart strategies to deliver against them
  • Meeting clients regularly to spot business challenges, cultural opportunities and emerging trends
  • Overseeing the successful onboarding of new clients and fostering long-term partnership retention
  • Motivating and inspiring the Akcelo team around client goals — being the advocate for the client within the agency
  • Preparing client decks, scopes, presentations and project plans that inspire confidence and clarity
  • Overseeing campaign delivery end-to-end, managing risk and ensuring alignment to timing, quality and budget
  • Seeking opportunities to expand client engagement across creative, digital, experiential and emerging capabilities
  • Coaching, mentoring and uplifting junior team members — shaping the next generation of talent

To be in the running, you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing client portfolios within an agency environment
  • Strong understanding of creative campaign development and delivery — ideally including fast-moving cultural, sport, entertainment or experiential work
  • Entrepreneurial flair — always searching for “what’s next” and spotting opportunities others miss
  • A passion for new ideas, innovation, culture and modern brand experience
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop people at all levels
  • A positive, solution-focused mindset even when things move at pace
  • Confidence preparing and presenting client forecasts and commercial plans
  • Strong presentation and communication skills — you articulate ideas with clarity and impact
  • Natural leadership qualities and a genuine desire to elevate those around you
  • A willingness to grow with and alongside a rapidly expanding business
  • Experience leading digital campaigns (retail focus a bonus)
  • A love for collaboration — you're team-first by nature, and you champion your people
  • An appreciation for the role sport, entertainment and culture play in shaping impactful brand work
