What you’ll doWe are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the finance team to continue the development of highly leveraged, efficient and forward thinking accounting function in the Americas. This position reports to our Director of Finance, Americas. You will be part of a global finance and accounting team and working both across borders and crossfunctionally in a fast paced environment for a growing company.
This position is based in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:Support the business with clarity on accounting policies and control procedures while enabling efficient business growth and operations
Perform the regional month end close process and serve as the key Americas accounting contact within the global accounting team; this includes working with the finance shared service center based in Asia, preparing significant journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP
Build awareness of key metrics that drive business performance and operating expenses to support detailed budget versus actuals reviews with the FP&A team
Automate and operationalize repeatable tasks with the goal of shortening the month end close process while maintaining strong controls and hygiene that will meet stringent SOX standards
Key point of contact for the regulatory team to translate financial results and support key licensure and business imperative regulatory reporting requirements
Lead the annual financial statement audits for the Americas region, working with our global audit firm, Ernst & Young, to drive efficient and successful results
Asynchronously communicate across times zones, comfortably utilizing zoom recordings, AI assistants, slack and other tools effectively in a highly organized and clear manner
Super user of our own fintech products and provide frequent user feedback to our product teams
Participate in other systems implementations, business growth and OKR initiatives on an ad hoc basis
We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:Holder of Bachelor's degree major or above in accounting or related disciplines. A strong foundation in accounting principles and practices is essential.
At least 4 years of working experience in the accounting field. You should have a solid track record of hands-on experience in various accounting functions.
Big Four experience and CPA certification highly desirable
Experience in a start up and Fintech industry a plus
High proficiency in Google sheets and Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas and connected sheets, are highly desirable.
Detail oriented, positive attitude, and self-motivated. You should be able to work independently, manage your time effectively, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You'll need to collaborate with colleagues, communicate with management, and explain financial information clearly and concisely.
Hands-on experience in ERP system. Experience with systems like SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite will make you a valuable asset.
Cantonese and Mandarin conversational proficiency. Bilingual communication skills can be helpful in a diverse work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by management. You might be asked to participate in special projects, assist with budget preparation, or take on other tasks as needed to support the department.
