As an experienced Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our subsidiaries in Australia, the United States, and Canada. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive environment. 

The position is based in Sydney with a flexible working model that includes connecting in person two (2) days a week.

We have made huge strides towards our goal of becoming the largest SMB eCommerce courier in the World, moving from a single-country operation in Australia to a successful launch and operation in the US and Canada. We also launched major partnerships with eBay and Shopify. Our work has a real impact: by powering eCommerce logistics, our software is helping real-world businesses deliver real parcels to their customers; this is more than just records in a database.

How you'll spend your time

  • External Reporting and Compliance: Support the VP of Finance in managing external reporting requirements and tax compliance across Sendle's subsidiaries in Australia, the US, and Canada. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, and coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Month-End Close and Finance Operations: Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation and review of balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Provide support in day-to-day finance operations performed by the accounting team in the Philippines, helping foster strong communication and ensuring effective delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors, ensuring alignment on goals and strategies. Collaborate closely with the accounting team in the Philippines, alongside broader business teams in North America, Australia, and the Philippines, to support and achieve shared objectives.
  • Systems and Tools: Leverage technology to maintain and streamline financial processes, including advanced Excel proficiency. Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and navigate new tools, build reports, and efficiently extract and analyze data from various systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial operations for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Qualifications:
    • Chartered Accountant (CA) with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in commerce.
    • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Experience:
    • Strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance
  • Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
  • Attributes:
    • A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Is hungry to learn and try new things, as well as contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
    • A self-motivated, proactive team player with a can-do attitude, ready to dive in, tackle challenges head-on, and focus on what matters most.
    • Enthusiasm for working in a global environment, with an appreciation for diverse cultures and a desire to gain exposure to international operations.

  • Experience managing multiple entities.
  • Experience with payroll management processes.
  • Proficient with Quickbooks ERP & analytical tools (e.g. Tableau).
