Senior AI Engineer

wiqLabs builds the internal tools and products that power the wider wiq business, and we’re forming a new team to take that further. This is an AI-first engineering team. You’ll work with coding agents every day, steering them, challenging them and shipping quality work quickly. You’ll build tools that are used across the organisation, including CI/CD and deployment infrastructure and conversational analytics products. Because we deliver to the rest of the business, we keep a high bar for technical ability and independence, and we hire people who are already sharp with AI.

• Build AI-enabled solutions: Design and deliver tools and products that teams across wiq rely on every day
• Work with coding agents daily: Use agents as a core part of how you build, and judge quickly whether they are heading in the right or wrong direction
• Shape a new team: Help define how Central AI Assets works, what it builds and how it grows
• Work across the stack: Apply your breadth across backend, frontend and cloud to solve problems end to end
• Share your knowledge: Learn from your teammates and lift the team’s AI engineering practice as you go

• Hands-on AI experience: Genuine experience building AI-enabled solutions, and using coding agents in your day-to-day engineering work
• Technical strength and breadth: You’re a generalist, multidisciplinary engineer with solid general knowledge, rather than a specialist in one language or framework
• Sound judgement: The experience to build a strong gut feel for when an agent’s output is right, and to catch it when it goes the wrong way
• Autonomy: You’re self-directed and comfortable owning problems from idea to delivery
• Curiosity and low ego: You ask great questions, enjoy learning from others and put the team before yourself
• Strong problem solving: You break down complex problems and find practical solutions
