The Note Issue Department is responsible for development of new banknote designs and the supply of good quality banknotes to meet the community's demand.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice based on research and analysis and contributing to the preparation of papers, briefing notes and reports.
  • Applying strong writing skills, sound judgement and excellent critical thinking skills to support analysis and drafting of project documents.
  • Working closely with the legal and procurement teams within the Bank to manage the legal agreements and contracts for projects.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute the objectives of Note Issue.
  • Undertaking analysis into data, research and trends to help inform the ongoing development of banknote strategy and policies.

Your background

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Ability to communicate results of analysis through high quality written reports and documents adjusted according to the intended audiences.
  • Highly developed ability to understand stakeholder requirements and consideration of such in analysis and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating legal and/or contract matters.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience communicating in various forums.

Teams within the Note Issue Department deliver specialised services to provide banknotes that the public can trust.  We work collaboratively to provide innovative and trusted solutions that support the current and future use of banknotes. The Banknote Strategy and Engagement Section provides expertise into the research, analysis and development of banknote strategy, planning, design, development, and production. The Section is responsible for the exciting project to redesign the $5 banknote to honour the culture and history of First Nation peoples.
