Play a key role in the uplift of risk culture and risk management practices across the Payments Settlements Department.
Are you ready to join the Payments Settlements Department and play a pivotal role in transforming risk management at the Reserve Bank of Australia?
We are seeking a risk professional to join us in a Line 1 Risk and Compliance role, supporting the department leaders to uplift risk culture and progressively mature our risk management practices.
Reporting to the Manager, Line 1 Risk and Compliance, the successful candidate will primarily focus on uplifting the quality of our key control documentation, prior to supporting the owners of these controls to test their design and operating effectiveness.
The position will involve substantial liaison with teams in the Payments Settlements and Information Technology departments, in addition to our Financial Markets Group, Banking, Finance, Enterprise Risk & Compliance and Audit Departments.
As a Senior Analyst you will:
Provide subject matter expertise, coaching, training and/or guidance to support the business areas to implement (meet) a target uplift in risk management practices.
As part of a team of risk professionals, ensure business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, standards, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite of the RBA.
Provide risk expertise to the business in the identification and assessment of risks to achieve business objectives.
Support the business to identify and document key controls within business processes and/or IT systems.
Support the business to develop, document and implement adequate controls to mitigate material risk exposures.
Provide subject matter expertise to the risk and control owners in the business and test the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
Provide risk expertise to the business in the development of credible action plans to address gaps in the business’ control environment.
Provide risk expertise to the business in the identification, logging and management of risks, controls, issues and incidents within the Risk Management System (RMS) to acceptable quality standards.
Provide risk advice in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of operational risk incidents.
Your Background
5 years + experience in a Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3 operational risk and compliance and/or assurance or Audit role, preferably within banking or financial services.
Demonstrated risk management expertise, supporting the learning and development of business stakeholders.
Demonstrated expertise documenting and testing key controls for design and operating effectiveness.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated negotiation and resolution management skills.
