We are looking for a high-calibre Senior API Engineer to join a pioneering initiative focused on the next evolution of digital trade: Agentic Commerce. As consumer behavior shifts toward AI-driven interactions, we are building the infrastructure that allows AI agents to seamlessly discover, access, and transact on our products.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of preparing our digital ecosystem for a future of automated commerce. You will be instrumental in evolving our API architecture to ensure it is not only functional for humans but optimized for AI discovery and the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).

Key Responsibilities

• Agent-Centric Infrastructure: Build and evolve robust API infrastructure specifically designed to enable AI agents to discover and transact on products and services.

• Readiness Assessment: Evaluate existing API catalogues to determine their suitability for agentic "discoverability" and high-stakes transactional capabilities.

• Commerce Enablement: Implement and optimize sophisticated product feeds that power AI-driven discovery and commerce engines.

• Strategic Integration: Provide technical expertise and support for Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) design and integration.

• High-Level Collaboration: Partner closely with internal product squads and external global technology partners (including Google) to ensure seamless platform integration in a partnership-led environment.

Key Skills & Experience

• Apigee X Specialist: Proven, deep experience with Apigee X and a comprehensive understanding of the full API management lifecycle.

• IaC Mastery: Professional experience with Terraform for infrastructure delivery and managing complex cloud environments.

• AI/LLM Capability: Practical experience (or strong technical depth) in integrating AI/LLM-based controls and guardrails into platform architectures.

• Cloud-Native Foundations: A solid understanding of modern cloud-native architectures, identity management, and secure integration patterns.

• Agile Delivery: Ability to thrive within fast-paced programs where technical agility and collaborative problem-solving are paramount.

Key Skills & Experience

• API Mastery: Extensive experience building and scaling APIs using modern microservices architecture.

• Architectural Patterns: Deep hands-on experience with API Gateway patterns and high-availability design.

• Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and serverless/containerized environments.

• Partnership Integration: Proven track record of integrating platforms within complex, partnership-led ecosystems (e.g., Google or similar global tech integrations).

• Modern Engineering: Strong understanding of security, authentication (OAuth/OpenID), and performance tuning for high-traffic commerce interfaces.
