About this role
We are looking for a passionate self motivated and driven individual to join our audit team as a senior associate. Our Financial Services Assurance practice is growing with exciting opportunities to work across clients in the banking, fintech, asset management and insurance sectors delivering a combination of external audit and regulatory compliance services.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
Lead audit fieldwork and deliver high quality audit services for clients across the financial services industry.
Design and implement audit strategies tailored to each client
Take ownership of assignments from planning to completion
Report directly to managers and partners
Mentor and manage team members during engagements
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service
Review financial statements in compliance with IFRS or other relevant frameworks
Keep up to date with technical and regulatory developments impacting clients and the industry
Identify opportunities to enhance audit efficiency and add value including the use of data analysis and AI
Collaborate across teams and service lines where required
Support with drafting reports for Manager/Director/Partner review
Show awareness of risk management processes
Actively seek feedback from your coach, peers and clients and use those opportunities to learn and develop
Plan and organise workload effectively and show initiative to support the team and the business to achieve its goals
Skills & experience
To be successful we see you adding value to our client’s business by having the following experience and attributes:
ACA /ACC (or equivalent) qualified or in progress
Minimum 2 years’ Experience working in the financial services industry at a Big 4 Firm or mid tier firm.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A client focussed attitude
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent understanding on control documentation and assessment
Strong understanding of auditing fundamentals including regulatory compliance audits (APRA and AFSL reporting would be advantageous)
Strong professional ethics
Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments at any one time
Excellent writing skills – strong report writing ability
Strong capabilities in full Microsoft productivity suite (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
