Job Description

Description about our GFM practice

Our banking and finance practice is ranked Band 1 global-wide and have more Band 1 rankings than any other law firms on Chambers Global. From our Australian offices in Sydney and Perth, we specialise in complex cross border financings and 'first of a kind' mandates with many of our matters being nominated for awards. We offer comprehensive services to borrowers, advisers, and other intermediaries on the full spectrum of financial products across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

Your experience

We are seeking an enthusiastic Associate (4+ years PQE UK notional) to join our Global Financial Markets practice in Sydney. To be successful:

  • You must have experience in advising transactional matters in one or several of the below areas: general banking, infrastructure/project finance, leverage finance, restructuring, asset finance, structured finance.
  • You must have the ability to work seamlessly across borders to deliver global expertise, local insight and the latest industry know-how to our clients. 
  • You have outstanding academic history and proven first-rate legal skills, combined with a strong industry reputation, excellent transactional and management skills.
  • You will enjoy working in a busy and demanding team environment and have had experience working with specialists across multiple practice groups. You will display a considerable appetite for business development, client relationship management and other commercial activities.
  • You will have a strong commitment to continuing your own professional development and be passionate about coaching and mentoring your team members who will look to you for guidance and direction.
