The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Associate, Market Data to join our Data Capability team. Reporting directly to the Associate Director Market Data, you will be responsible for enhancing the market data governance framework in compliance with IFM’s roadmap architecture and design standards. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills and a strategic view of market data vendors and data management processes.

  • Support the evolution of the Market Data Vendor Strategy and Governance Framework, including vendor tiering, commercial risk, and usage oversight.
  • Own business‑as‑usual market data operations, covering procurement, renewals, invoicing oversight, issue resolution, vendor performance reporting, and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner with Technology and Investment teams to identify required and redundant data feeds and ensure efficient downstream system integration.
  • Maintain and enhance vendor inventory, cost, and usage data to drive transparency, compliance, and cost optimisation.
  • Support Investment Operations and Client Service teams, promoting compliant and efficient use of market data.
  • Contribute to the design, adoption, and continuous improvement of market data governance tools, controls, and reporting.
  • Educate and influence stakeholders on market data governance, permissible use, and commercial implications.

Your Background and Experience

We are seeking a senior market data professional with 5 plus years’ experience in market data procurement and vendor management within complex, transformation‑led environments. The role requires strong commercial acumen, proven stakeholder engagement across Investment and Technology teams, and deep expertise in market data governance and supporting technologies.

  • 5 plus years’ experience in market data procurement, vendor management, and governance within institutional funds management or financial services.
  • Proven experience operating in complex, multi‑vendor market data environments, balancing commercial outcomes with long‑term vendor relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with hands‑on leadership of renewals, negotiations, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Practical experience designing, implementing, and operating market data governance frameworks across multiple regions or business lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as an effective bridge between Investment, Technology, Operations, and external vendors.
  • Working knowledge of fund management platforms and market data consumers such as Aladdin, eFront, FactSet, Bloomberg, or equivalent.
  • High data literacy, with experience in reporting, visualisation, and communicating insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
