About this role

Our growing Private Business Tax & Advisory (Business Services) team is looking for an experienced accountant to join the Sydney office as a Senior Associate.

Business leaders face many challenges throughout the business lifecycle: from managing daily operations, tax and compliance, to navigating a competitive landscape and planning an exit strategy. Key responsibilities

  • Preparation of company, partnership, trust and individual tax returns
  • Preparation of financial statements, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns for a broad range of clients, from SMEs to large companies
  • Liaising with the ATO on a range of matters
  • Build and maintain strong relationships as part of an effective client service delivery team
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to wider firm initiatives across the business

Skills and experience

You will have an interest in taxation and in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of accounting, while bringing a caring, conscientious, and practical approach to your clients. You enjoy applying your analytical and critical thinking skills to problems in order to find innovative solutions that are tailored to each client’s unique situation.

  • CA / CPA/CTA qualified, or other relevant industry accreditation(s) (or currently completing)
  • At least 18 months’ taxation accounting experience within a chartered accounting environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a deadline-driven environment and be adaptable to work across multiple managers
  • Experience in the use of Xero accounting software will be highly regarded

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 AUD per annum inclusive of superannuation, dependent on experience and skills.
