Senior Associate - Project Finance

The Opportunity

We currently have a rare and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our growing Project Finance team in Sydney. This role will see you working closely with Partners Brendan Smith and Tim Stanton as well as other senior practitioners across our Projects group nationally, focusing on project finance.

In this role you will advise domestic and global sponsors, financiers, borrowers and listed corporates on the project financing of major energy, infrastructure and resources projects both in Australia and internationally. You will also have exposure to acquisition and corporate finance and debt capital markets financing. You will play a key role on market leading transactions, with a current focus on energy transition.  You will also assist in the mentorship of junior lawyers, helping to shape the future of the team.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years' experience as an Australian qualified lawyer at a leading commercial law firm, gained within a ranked Project Finance practice.  You will also have:

• Exceptional technical legal skills including contract drafting and negotiation;

• Commercial awareness and a drive for providing exceptional client service;

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to run matters efficiently to a high standard;

• A collegiate attitude towards working collaboratively with other team members and practice groups;

• Aptitude for business development and contributing to the ongoing growth of the practice; and

• Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills.
