The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Senior Avionics Design Engineer to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. The role can be based in Brisbane, Williamtown, or Adelaide.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Work as a senior member with the team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership in delivering minor and major capability upgrades to the platform from the concept stage to aircraft in service.
  • Develop installation designs for equipment in a mid-service life aircraft fleet. Produce engineering artefacts iaw Boeing processes & specs, and the platform EMS.
  • Develop repair & modification instructions for integration into the existing aircraft in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System.
  • Perform Electrical Design Integration, Electrical Load Analysis, Wire design and integration, etc....
  • Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting.
  • Support the organization in developing 'people first', 'team capability' as well as supporting process and tool developments.

Experience/Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor Engineering qualification in either Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical or a related tertiary Engineering degree qualification satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
  • The ability to obtain RPEQ within 18 months is required.
  • 7+ years experience in aviation engineering activities including design development, engineering investigations and issuance of authorised documentation relating to aircraft structure, mechanical and subsystem designs, and
  • Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as, the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.)
