The Reserve Bank of Australia is undertaking a Core Modernisation program which involves a major upgrade of core technology infrastructure. We have a great opportunity for multiple senior business analysts to join the team and make a key contribution to the business analysis activities of the Payments Migration workstream.
This workstream centres on critical payments systems for Australia including the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS), the Fast Settlement Service (FSS) and Swift systems used for interbank payments. Safe, secure and reliable settlement systems are integral to the smooth functioning of the Australian economy, and projects relating to these systems are an important aspect of the RBA’s work.
About the role
The type of work you will do will include:
Translating complex business, strategic, and technical information for diverse audiences
Collaborating with stakeholders to capture and document requirements
Creating and maintaining Jira user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog refinement
Acting as a liaison between business units, IT, and infrastructure teams to align solutions with business goals
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, and technology assurance frameworks
Applying a strong understanding of on-prem infrastructure, virtual machines, networking, and enterprise IT environments
Leading end-to-end business analysis activities across multiple workstreams
Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to drive consensus and clarity
Supporting solution design and architecture discussions with technical teams
Managing traceability of requirements through to testing and implementation
About you
You’ll bring:
Proven experience in IT infrastructure, network projects, application migration with expertise in data centre migrations
Advanced proficiency in business analysis tools, methods, and communication techniques
Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for managing requirements, workflows, and documentation
Skill in creating clear and impactful presentations for workshops, training, and senior management
Experience in Agile and hybrid delivery environments, including sprint planning and backlog grooming
A quick learning ability and adaptability to complex, unfamiliar environments
Strong experience in Requirements Management, with the ability to independently manage BA activities and deliverables
Hands-on experience with solution evaluation, analysis, documentation, and recommendations
The ability to communicate complex technical issues to both business and technical audiences
Leadership and mentoring experience within the BA community to support the growth of BA practices
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills across business and technical domains
A strategic mindset with the ability to connect business needs to technology outcomes
