Key purpose of the role:
As a practitioner and active team member of the Business Analyst Capability Community of Practice (CoP), you will play a pivotal role in supporting critical business services and driving strategic change across our Derivatives Clearing function. This hands-on position blends functional and technical responsibilities, requiring deep analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.
Your responsibilities
- Work with impacted stakeholders to perform deep dive gap analysis on the As-Is and To-Be states, enabling effective review by project teams and stakeholders.
- Liaise with assigned Project/Program Owners and Subject Matter Experts for elicitation, analysis, prioritisation, and approval of new business requests within associated projects.
- Define transitions of business processes to the strategic state, including interim/tactical states where required.
- Analyse and map process flows, domain models, system data flows, and associated life cycle events to determine and manage transition to the target state.
- Elicit, prepare, and generate business requirements (functional and non-functional) in the form of epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, clearly articulating these to developers, testers, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Use formal modelling techniques to represent business requirements.
- Liaise with counterparts in related internal project/domain teams to understand dependencies, constraints, and associated requirements, and agree upon and deliver solutions.
- Review and contribute to specific test scenarios and the overall Test Strategy.
- Liaise with IT solution providers (internal & external) on project progress and problem resolution.
- Assume cross-functional responsibilities when needed, such as running project coordination, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.
- Work with Release Management to ensure a smooth implementation and transition phase.
- Contribute to change management activities and prepare training artefacts to enable stakeholders to apply changes introduced by delivered business requirements.
- Conduct peer review of business analysis artefacts to ensure quality and alignment to framework.
- Produce high-quality business analysis deliverables using relevant techniques and tools in line with the ASX delivery framework.
- Be an active member of the BA Community of Practice (CoP).
Your experience and qualifications
Must have
- 5+ years dedicated business analysis experience working on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in derivatives markets or clearing environments.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Deep understanding of derivatives products and processes.
Nice to have
- Experience with collateral management and margining processes.
- Familiarity with pricing models for derivatives.
- Exposure to business resilience and risk management in financial markets.
