The Senior Business Analyst role offers the perfect balance of autonomy and impact. You'll drive the requirements lifecycle from discovery through to implementation, making decisions that directly affect the success of a strategic initiative.

This 18-month contract gives you the chance to be at the centre of CMC Markets' growth journey, transitioning our share investing platform and client benefits to a new external partner.

Why You'll like working here

Just some of the reasons you’ll love working here include:

  • Leave benefits: Enjoy your birthday off to spend time with family and friends, on us! Utilise a free annual charity day to give back to your community.

  • $0 Trades: Staff & family trading accounts with CMC Markets Invest have access to the best brokerage rates in the market - $0 trades for all domestic and international equity orders!

  • Continuous learning: Our L&D offering covers both technical and performance training, ensuring you're always learning new skills.

  • Unlimited access to a dedicated benefits & wellbeing hub where you can save money through various retailer discounts, and make use of a variety of resources that will enhance your physical and mental wellbeing.

What you’ll be working on

  • Bring people together. You'll engage with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to gather requirements, lead workshops, conduct interviews, and map user journeys.

  • Dig into the data and processes to spot gaps and opportunities, then contribute your insights to shape new software features and business systems.

  • Tackle complex challenges head-on and propose solutions that move the business forward strategically and tactically.

  • Break down the backlog where you'll refine epics into clear user stories with acceptance criteria, and support UX/UI design work including wireframing.

  • Support project management activities like planning, stakeholder engagement, managing risks and issues, and keeping everyone informed.

What will help you be successful?

You'll bring at least 5 years of business analysis experience and a talent for making complex information clear to everyone, whether you're talking to developers or business leaders. You're comfortable facilitating collaboration between technical and business stakeholders, creating high-quality documentation, and working within agile teams where you set clear user stories that developers can run with.

You know your way around tools like Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Figma, and you understand user applications and interfaces deeply: how they work, how people interact with them, and how to improve them. Financial services experience (especially stockbroking or Big 4 banks), data analysis or migration skills, experience driving development across complex processes, or BA certification would all be valuable additions.

If you've been working as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Consultant in technology or financial services, we would love to hear from you.
