About the role (your why) 

The Senior Business Consultant – Finance position plays a pivotal role in helping our customers achieve success with Datascape, Datacom’s cutting-edge ERP solution. You’ll be the trusted advisor guiding councils and local government organisations across New Zealand and Australia through their financial transformation journeys—delivering tangible outcomes and real value.

In this role, you’ll focus on implementing the Financial Modules of our Datascape ERP solution, working closely with customers to optimise their systems and processes. Every project brings variety and impact—from leading large-scale, end-to-end implementations that transform how councils operate, to delivering targeted, one-day engagements that solve specific customer challenges.

You’ll collaborate with talented colleagues, work on diverse projects, and see the direct results of your work shaping better outcomes for customers and the communities they serve.

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into functional requirements and solution delivery (i.e. solution design documents)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems, purchasing/requisition workflows and job costing
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, quality improvements and outcomes
  • Exceptional corporate presentation skills and strong people engagement ability
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, negotiation and organisation skills
  • A Business Consulting or Analysis background &/or strong financial/management accountant experience
  • Accounting Qualifications
  • A teamwork approach, always willing to share your knowledge to benefit others
  • Council &/or ERP partner/vendor experience would be looked on favourably

What you’ll do:

  • Implementing Datacom’s ERP solution to suit customer’s business requirements in line with proven/best practice
  • Deliver Professional Consulting Services; including business analysis, scoping and design, hands on configuration, training and support for the Datascape ERP solution
  • Provide feedback on customers use of the software or areas of improvement to the Development and Sales teams
  • Assist to investigate and resolve implementation and product issues as required
  • Develop training material, configuration and solution design documentation
