Job Description

Streaming is shifting fast, and at Stan, we’re shaping where it goes next. As our Senior Business Development & Partnership Manager, you will play a pivotal, high-visibility role bridging strategic leadership and commercial execution.

Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, you will serve as a key leader within the team, working to architect, negotiate, and scale complex, high-impact commercial partnerships across both B2B platform ecosystems and major B2C consumer brands. You will mentor junior team members, take direct ownership of top-tier strategic accounts, and drive non-linear subscriber acquisition and revenue growth for Australia’s leading local streaming service.

 Key Responsibilities

  •  Strategic Partnership Leadership & Growth: Deliver a preestablished end-to-end strategy across B2B territories (Smart TV ecosystems, telcos, device manufacturers) and major B2C brand initiatives. Take direct accountability for key performance indicators around subscriber growth and customer lifetime value (LTV).
  • Bridge & Team Mentorship: Act as a key connective bridge between the Head of BD and the execution team. Translate high-level strategic directives into actionable BD roadmaps, mentor mid-level/junior managers, and step in to lead high-stakes negotiations and partner interactions.
  • Expand B2B & B2C Frontiers: Identify, evaluate, and capture new commercial growth opportunities across traditional, strategic, and emerging entertainment environments. Build new revenue models and partnership structures that expand Stan’s distribution and market penetration.
  • Cross-Functional & Ecosystem Alignment: Partner closely with stakeholders across Product, Tech, Marketing, Finance, and Legal teams as well as the broader Nine Entertainment network to ensure complex GTM roadmaps and tech integrations are delivered smoothly.
  • Commercial Rigor & Optimization: Establish performance frameworks to continuously measure, evaluate, and optimize the commercial return on investment (ROI) of all key partnership initiatives. Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior executive stakeholders.

 Key Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ Years of Relevant Experience: A proven track record in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, and Commercial Growth within SVOD, digital media, entertainment, telecommunications, or tech platform industries.
  •  Deep Industry & Ecosystem Mastery: Intimate knowledge of the Australian media landscape, streaming ecosystem, TV OEM platforms, telco distribution models, and consumer brand dynamics.
  • Proven Growth Track Record: Demonstrated history of driving measurable subscriber acquisition, top-line commercial value, and brand equity through transformative multi-channel deals.
  • Master Negotiator: Expertise in deal structuring, financial modeling, legal agreement term sheets, and senior stakeholder negotiation across multi-year, multi-million dollar partnerships.
  •  Cross-Territory Expertise: Equal comfort and expertise navigating technical B2B integrations (e.g., app placements, remote control hotkeys, ecosystem distribution) and high-visibility consumer B2C co-marketing campaigns.
  • Leadership & Influence: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to lead without authority, manage senior executive relationships, and upskill junior team members.
