Job DescriptionJoin Beyond Bank as our Senior Cloud Engineer who is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles. Your role will include developing and managing Terraform configurations, building and optimising Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and implementing site reliability engineering practices to ensure platform availability, performance, and recoverability. You will influence cloud engineering standards and shape the future of digital transformation at a strategic level.
In this role, you will
- Collaborate with architects to define cloud infrastructure patterns, landing zones, and resource topologies
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including module development, state management, and workspace strategies.
- Implement Azure infrastructure provisioning through automated CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows Subject matter expert with Azure core services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity), Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Azure Resource ManagerDesign and build infrastructure that issecure, resilient, observable, versioned, discoverable, and well-documented:
- Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules to ensure infrastructure consistency across environments and workloads
- Support cloud migration initiatives and infrastructure modernisation to cloud-native services.
- Contribute to risk assessments and incident response planning
- Work with IT services partners for resource augmentation ensuring flexible capacity model, quality and adherence to SDLC and Quality engineering standards/stage gates
- Work closely with development teams, architects, and operations to align infrastructure capabilities with technical and business requirements.
- Participate in operational incident response and on-call rotation for infrastructure-related issues
- Identify and implement productivity and process improvements
- Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities across Azure infrastructure
- Contribute to engineering metrics improvement initiatives including deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery
About you
This role suits a strategic and hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and driving enterprise-wide architectural outcomes. You'll be passionate about building scalable, secure systems and take pride in mentoring others while fostering collaboration. With a clear focus on quality and innovation, you'll bring structure, consistency, and technical excellence to every solution.
- Demonstrated significant experience in Azure cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps engineering, delivering secure, scalable enterprise solutions.
- Strong programming and cloud development background, with expertise in:
- Languages & Tools: Terraform (HCL), PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, JSON
- Platforms & IDEs: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Git, Terraform Cloud/Enterprise (desirable)
- Azure Services: Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Entra ID
- Methodologies: Agile, Hybrid, and Scrum
- Familiarity with role-based security and permission models, Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Entra ID permission models
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and incident management
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Subject Matter Expertise in Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus
- Experience with CI/CD, Git branching strategies, and infrastructure testing approaches
