Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s marketing, external and internal affairs, communications, sustainability, community investment and social impact.
The CEO and Support Units Corporate Affairs team is part of the broader Corporate Affairs team and is responsible for delivering proactive, impactful and cohesive communications plans to protect and enhance the Group’s reputation.
Do work that matters
As a Senior Communications Manager in the CEO and Support Unit Corporate Affairs team, you will have broad responsibilities covering communication planning and implementation.
On any given day, you will:
Develop and execute internal communications strategies and campaigns to align and engage employees with the Group’s strategy and culture.
Develop and execute external communications strategies to inform media and other external audiences about the bank’s strategy as it relates to Support Unit initiatives and the Group’s E&S strategy.
Work with the Corporate Affairs Business Partner to support Group Executive and senior leaders on communications initiatives that support strategy delivery.
Provide insights and informed advice to senior leaders on internal communication, stakeholder engagement, media engagement and the external operating environment.
Support the Corporate Affairs Business Partner to determine and implement responses to significant issues.
Work with colleagues across Corporate Affairs to ensure a coordinated approach to internal and external announcements and campaigns.
Advise managers who flow to the work to deliver to a high standard and build their skills in communications planning and execution.
Establish campaign or project performance indicators and reporting relating to communications activities to drive and track performance.
We’d love to hear from people who have:
Significant experience in corporate or public affairs, communications, media, or an agency role developing, implementing and delivering internal and external communication campaigns and activities for a large business.
Experience in leading internal communications, people and culture communications programs.
Experience in leading external communications activities including proactively and reactively interacting with media, peak bodies and other external stakeholders.
Experience in providing strategic counsel to senior business stakeholders. Strong business acumen combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, communications, journalism or a relevant discipline.
