Job Description

As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger and a key member of our rapidly growing Transaction & Investor Services team, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on and manage a wide range of projects serving the Financial Sponsor community.   We serve investor and strategic clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, from opportunity identification through due diligence, and post-transaction value realisation, and exit readiness. Our team works across industry sectors spanning Consumer, Healthcare, Financial Services, Technology, Business Services, Industrials and many others.

Transaction & Investor Services is the initial focus of Roland Berger's Australian business. Our widespread recognition and extensive network are key factors in our success. You will have the potential to build a robust presence and reputation among the investor community. In addition, Roland Berger offers commercial flexibility allowing you to develop on your own platform for personal development and growth.

As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger you will:

  • Lead delivery of work in discrete modules of larger projects, or team leadership on smaller projects in fast paced and demanding environments
  • Work day to day with client stakeholders at all levels
  • Coach and develop consultants in your project teams
  • Lead stakeholder engagement e.g. interviews, group dialogue
  • Problem structuring, analysis, and synthesis of insights
  • Undertake market, customer & competitive analysis
  • Undertake company financial and operational analysis
  • Prepare and deliver robust financial models as required
  • Effective and impactful communication in delivery of content in both written and verbal form
  • Contribute to client relationship management and business development

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following criteria:

  • You must have 6-8 years of work experience in strategy consulting or 4 to 8 years of relevant industry experience in the field of transactions e.g. consulting, investment banking
  • You must be able to evidence proven transaction delivery experience in buy side and sell side services, including commercial due diligence and operational due diligence
  • Experience in value creation (both top line growth and bottom-line performance improvement) will be valued
  • Experience working with Financial Sponsor clients (e.g. Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure Funds, etc)
  • You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members
  • Outstanding graduate or postgraduate academic credentials from a leading academic institution
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent English language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven analytical, financial modelling, commercial, creative, and narrative skills
  • An appreciation of the consulting lifestyle and willingness to travel is a pre-requisite
  • You are an Australian/New Zealand citizen or possess Australian/New Zealand residency.
