Company Description

At Livewire Markets, we exist to help investors make more informed and successful investment decisions. Through our two platforms - Livewire Markets and Market Index - we create, curate, and publish high-quality investment content for over 1 million investors every month.

  • Market Index is the go-to source for comprehensive market data and ASX information, covering listed companies, ETFs, LICs, and REITs

  • Livewire Markets is Australia’s leading website for expert investment analysis, featuring insights from more than 500 respected investment professionals

As a fast-growing force in financial media, we’re looking for an experienced Data Analyst to help establish a stronger analytics capability across Livewire Markets and Market Index.

Job Description

We’re hiring an experienced Data Analyst to establish the business function. This is an opportunity to build upon your strong foundations across SQL, data warehouses, web analytics, dashboarding and stakeholder management to identify and deliver data led value across the business. You will have the opportunity to shape that Data Analytics function in a way that suits both your style and our needs. From day one, you will have the independence and responsibility to reduce bottlenecks, manual reporting, inconsistent answers and limited capacity to empower our teams with deep insights.

What you’ll do

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Sales, Content and Subscriptions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Company dashboards and reporting - Design, build and maintain dashboards used by teams across the business whilst establishing single-source-of-truth reporting where possible
  • Stakeholder enablement - Work directly with stakeholders to understand their reporting, insight and data needs, clarify the real business problem, and deliver practical analytics solutions that help teams make better decisions. You will be expected to operate independently, ask good questions and turn ambiguous requests into clear outputs
  • Act as the go-to analytics partner for the Partnerships team, delivering partner-ready reporting and audience insights across web, email and campaigns to support renewals, upsells and stronger commercial conversations. Also support Product, Content and Subscriptions with clear, scalable reporting that improves decision-making and enables more effective self-serve access to data
  • Web analytics and measurement quality - Lead and improve how we measure performance across Livewire Markets and Market Index. Work with Product and Engineering on measurement plans, event tracking, data layer requirements, tool configuration, instrumentation quality and data validation, then turn that data into dashboards and decision-ready analysis

What success looks like

  • Senior stakeholders have confidence in the numbers, know where to go for trusted reporting, and can access clearer, faster answers without relying on Product leaders to manually pull reports

  • Dashboards and reporting reduce repeat ad hoc requests by giving teams reliable self-serve access to the metrics they need

  • Foster and enable more of an experimentation approach and improved use of data within our product and engineering team

  • Partner reporting becomes a commercial advantage - improving reporting quality, reducing manual effort and supporting renewal and expansion conversations

  • Richer audience and channel insights that help Product and Content improve traffic, repeat habits, recirculation and overall engagement

  • Stronger email and lifecycle analytics across the network, especially as Braze comes online.

  • A stronger measurement foundation for subscriptions, promotions and funnel experiments, with clear baselines and readouts

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep digital analytics knowledge, with expert-level GA4 experience and a strong understanding of event-based measurement, attribution limitations and best-practice reporting
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar platforms
  • Proven experience building, maintaining and improving dashboards and reports that non-technical stakeholders actively use
  • Strong SQL and proven experience working directly with modern data warehouses and large datasets, such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks or similar. You should be comfortable querying, joining, validating, troubleshooting and shaping datasets for analysis and reporting
  • Strong email analytics capability, including lifecycle performance, cohort behaviour, engagement and downstream impact
  • Experience partnering with product managers on experimentation, including test design, measurement plans and post-test analysis
  • Strong communication skills - you can explain complex analysis simply and turn insight into action
  • Comfort using AI tools and emerging technology to improve efficiency, analysis quality and insight accessibility

Nice-to-haves

  • Braze experience, particularly reporting concepts and data exports
  • Experience in media, content, subscriptions or audience-led digital businesses
  • Exposure to data modelling and structured dataset design
  • Hands-on web analytics implementation experience, including measurement plans, event tracking, tag management, data layer concepts and data validation

Why us?

  • Be part of a high-growth scale-up as we change the way people invest
  • Work with an awesome team with experience from some of the fastest-growing and most successful start-ups in Australia
  • Work in a flexible environment that understands that people have busy lives outside of work
  • The opportunity to interview some of Australia's best investors and learn more in 6 months than you would in 5 years elsewhere

There are perks too:

  • Flexibility first - we all have rich and full lives outside of work that matters too
  • Learning and training budget - keep learning and growing
  • Team events - from trivia to escape rooms to runs - there's something for everyone
  • Snacks, drinks (because that matters... right?!)

If you are interested in this role, please send a resume. To make your application stand out, feel free to include a cover letter.
