Job Description Summary

The ResMed Global Technology Solutions (GTS) team powers digital experiences and engagement to enhance the lives of millions of people every day through connected care. This role will be part of the team supporting ResMed's internal Operations, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Procurement and related functions.

Job Description

The primary role of the Data Domain Architect is to design and manage data architecture within specific domains (primarily Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing), ensuring that data is structured, stored, and accessed efficiently to build our next gen Supply Chain solutions.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

  • Domain driven design: Work with data analysts to understand business requirements, identify main entities and domains, key metrics including data quality and ownership of data.
  • Conceptual data modelling: Create and extend data models that represent the data structures and relationships relevant to the domain.
  • Physical data mapping: Validate and define sources of truth for data requirements and map conceptual data models to physical models.
  • Integration: Work with solution and integration architects to design solutions for data integration across various systems and platforms, facilitating seamless data flow. Define API specifications according to logical data models and international standards (e.g. REST APIs). Understand common platforms (e.g. integration, data warehouse) and use ResMed standards.
  • Design for performance and scalability: Understand non-functional requirements for the solution, data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements and define patterns and principles to solve for this. Understand concepts like synchronous and asynchronous data flows, data lake, OLTP and OLAP and use this knowledge to design scalable and sustainable solution together with solution architects.
  • Design for analytics: Help data analysts and BI teams to ingest the right data and data types to build reporting requirements
  • Collaboration: Work with different stakeholders (data analysts, data lead, data engineers, solution architects and business architects) across multiple platform teams and incorporate all requirements, standards and guidelines. Keep close relationship to ResMed global data teams practices
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data domains, models, and processes for reference and compliance.
  • Application architecture: Understand functional context, boundaries and limitations of vendor application(s)
  • Enterprise Architecture: Work with enterprise architects to consolidate data definitions and data models across all ResMed domains. Ensure solutions adhere to architecture principles (e.g. data is an asset, data is shared). Document and track “data-debt”.

  • Understand concepts of generalization and re-usability of design components to maximize their value
  • Be able to balance competing demands to effectively prioritize tasks and achieve deadlines
  • Be an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of technical & non-technical team members

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience
Required:

  • Minimum 7 years working as a data analyst, data modeller, data architect
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working
  • Experience in solution enhancement and analysis
  • Multi-system integration experience
  • Experience with database solutions, especially Oracle
  • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Developer tools, .NET and/or K2
  • Experience with APIs

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 9 years of related experience
  • Experience working in the areas of Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement & Fusion
  • Hands-On experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence
