About the role
We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our Operations and Technology team. In this role, you will design, build, maintain, and support data platforms and pipelines, ensuring seamless integration between our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and other systems, including third-party applications. Your expertise will be crucial in leveraging Microsoft Fabric to enhance our data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Asset Management business stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and met.
Contribute to the overall design and development of the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) and other IT systems.
Implement, manage and support change within Asset Management whilst adhering to the standard processes and practices of the team.
Design, build and enhance data engineering solutions.
Design, build and enhance lakehouses for registry and investment data.
Implementation of a modern tech stack for data analytics, aggregation and storage of investment data, data feeds to downstream systems.
Design, build and enhance logging and monitoring of data engineering and lakehouse.
Build and enhance automated build and deployment for dev ops.
Build and enhance reporting, dashboards, analytics of data.
What We’re Looking For:
Preferred degree qualified (Business or Technology).
Prior enterprise experience building lakehouses and performing data engineering within the domain of investment data.
Excellent communication skills and be highly collaborative.
Extensive history of software development and business intelligence experience within an enterprise environment in Australia.
Strong SQL and Python experience.
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and associated technologies building data engineering solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Strong understanding of Spark and PySpark.
Design and implementation of data solutions based on both Parquet and SQL normalised data.
Design and implementation of various data schemas for performant reporting.
Experience in Microsoft Fabric based solutions.
Exposure to data analytics, reporting and dashboards from a cloud-based solution.
Team player and collaborative.
Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
Good stakeholder management and influencing skills.
