We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace - a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. At Tracksuit we consider a unique perspective, diverse experience and a growth mindset to be of greater value than ticking every box on an JD. If you think you have what it takes but don’t have the exact experience we’ve set out, please still get in touch and apply. We’d love to chat!

At Tracksuit, we provide beautiful, radically affordable, always-on brand tracking which is easy to use compared to traditional methods. We recognise that sounds like a ton of buzzwords for marketers, so what it really means is that we did over 50,000 surveys last month to find out what real humans think and feel about the world’s best brands and their competitors. Check us out here: www.gotracksuit.com 🙌

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to amplify the value of our data and help us become the common language to measure, understand and communicate the value of brand building.

Data is Tracksuit’s moat: it’s the core of our product and integral to everything we do. As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll be joining our world-class data science team, working with engineers, product managers, and market research experts to design novel data products to lift the baseline for marketing measurement.

We think this role is exciting because:

  • Innovation is the expectation: You’ll run experiments, dive deep into analysis, and design new algorithms and models to re-imagine marketing measurement from first principles. You’ll work closely with product teams to build the world’s best brand tracking platform.
  • Your work will directly shape the company’s trajectory: You’ll be applying your data skills to solve problems at the heart of our business model, directly shaping our ability to scale and launch new products with measurable impacts.
  • You’ll join a high-performing team: Too much of data science work is done in silos. At Tracksuit, you’ll join a team of smart, kind, and driven peers. Daily collaboration will sharpen your craft and transform how you think, build, and operate.
  • We don’t have a roadmap dictated to us: you’ll have high-level business goals and outcomes, but it’s up to you to define the problems and solutions.

We’re looking for a Data Scientist with at least 4 years of experience that is:

  • “Full Stack”: Deep understanding of statistics, including both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. Strong grasp of both machine learning and causal inference. Experience measuring and improving accuracy and reliability in complex systems. Fluent in SQL, scripting languages such as Python and R, and working with AI
  • Experienced in research: Econometrics, biology, thermodynamics - you name it! We tackle problems like a research lab. You’ll thrive if you’ve had experience mastering a particular domain (we love Ph.D.s!) and contributing new peer-reviewed knowledge and methods to the world.
  • Entrepreneurial and product-minded: You’re passionate about how your technical work drives business impact. Your expertise in data science enables you to design creative pragmatic solutions that strike unique trade-offs between statistics, engineering, and business outcomes. You love collaborating with customers, product managers, and designers because your work matters most when it generates real customer love.
  • Kind: This is such a collaborative role that we ultimately want a great, collaborative and supportive team player.

Why join us at Tracksuit?

As one of Australasia's fastest growing startups, we've hand-picked a world-class team of kind, ambitious, generous, and smart humans. You’ll get to join and experience life at one the fastest-growing startup in New Zealand & Australia while we are still in hyper growth phase.

  • HRD Employer of Choice <200 Staff 2024Sn
  • NZ Hi Tech Awards, Emerging Company of the Year 2024
  • AFR Best Place to Work Media and Marketing (4th place) 2024
