Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a focus on networking and security.

  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline the deployment and management of applications on AWS
  • Design and implement secure network architectures, including VPCs, security groups, and network access controls
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application and infrastructure performance, leveraging tools like CloudWatch, ELK, and Prometheus
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for cloud security and networking
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely incident response and resolution
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in DevOps practices and AWS technologies

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, VPC, Security Groups, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with networking and security concepts (firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, etc.)
  • Expertise in DevOps practices (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, etc.)
  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role
  • Proven track record of deploying and managing applications on AWS
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration (preferred)
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, etc.) (preferred)
  • Experience in a highly regulated or security-conscious industry (finance, healthcare, etc.) (preferred)
  • Involvement in designing and implementing secure network architectures (preferred)
